I had been wanting to buy a 1950's travel suitcase for some time now. I recently was gifted from my mother a vintage inspired (reproduction) blue trunk.
Altough, I love it and it does have wheels for rolling. I haven't made a decision on if I want to use it for not for my birthday trip coming up in the next couple of weeks. With the recent purchase of not one but two suitcases I wouldn't have enough time to clean it and reline it. I have been looking at some ideas on Pinterest although those ideas are more related to decor than refurbishing it for travel.
So I have many ideas and have no idea where to start. The suitcases were a steal! $40.00 total for the set. I'm only going away for three days for my birthday and am torn as to which suitcase to bring. If I do bring the vintage suitcases I will need the air vac or space bag that was a big deal back in the early 2010's or late 2000's to protect my clothing from whatever is in the old suitcases. But if I bring my other "suitcase" the trunk it will be a journey for me to bring (I live on the top floor) and there is no retractable handle so I can only use the handle that's on top, not only that but it's pretty big and I don't think I will need the space for it. Maybe your suggestions will help. And any help for for decorating the suitcase will be greatly appreciated.
